Welcome to Ciudad, a hidden gem nestled in the vibrant Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle. With its rustic charm and contemporary twist on traditional flavors, this tapas-style eatery has quickly become a favorite among locals and food enthusiasts. Located at 6118 12th Ave S, Ciudad invites you to explore its diverse menu of small plates, artfully crafted to entice your palate.
As you step through the somewhat elusive entrance, you're greeted by a unique ambiance that captures the spirit of community dining. The essence of Ciudad lies in its shareable dishes; each small plate is designed not just to be enjoyed in solitude, but to be shared and celebrated with friends. Highlights from the menu include the rich and creamy Hummus and Flatbreads, featuring fried garbanzo beans, argan oil, and za'atar spice, setting the stage for an unforgettable culinary experience at just $8.
Vegetables also take center stage here, with the Smashed Potato swimming in marinated lebneh and drizzled with chive oil — a delightful creation for only $10. And for those looking to explore bold flavors, you cannot miss the Brussel Sprouts and Crispy Carrot, dressed in a captivating tomato sambal and burnt honey for $9. Each dish is a beautiful presentation, which, as some patrons have noted, elevates the dining experience to a work of art.
Customer reviews highlight the remarkable flavor combinations. For instance, the Saffron Cauliflower with shallots and dried apricot has made waves for its innovative blend of tastes. But Ciudad isn’t just about flavor; it’s also about memory and shared moments. The restaurant is known for its well-executed proteins; whether you're indulging in tahini-marinated chicken or hanger steak, each bite reflects quality ingredients and skillful preparation.
While some dishes have experienced fluctuations over time—like the evolution of the brussel sprouts—loyal diners still rave about iconic offerings such as the baba ganoush and labneh, which set a benchmark for middle eastern dips in the city. However, improvements and shifts in recipes are part of a living menu that continues to evolve, reflected by customer feedback.
If you're in search of a low-key place to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a weekday meal with friends, Ciudad’s vibrant outdoor seating creates a casual yet festive atmosphere that complements the robust flavors on the menu.

Super cool. Hard to find speakeasy eats in rustic Georgetown. Food looks great. Just about to find out how great.

This was my first time at Ciudad, but definitely won't be my last. I enjoyed everything I ordered. The flavor combinations were amazing like the Saffron Cauliflower that had shallots with dried apricot and date molasses. I would have never thought to put all those ingredients together, but they worked - and worked beautifully. From the grill, we ordered the tahini marinated Chicken and the Hanger Steak. There are a variety of sauces available (1 for $3; 3 for $8): Chimichurri, Harissa, Smoked Yogurt, Burnt Honey, Black Garlic Aioli, and Mojo Rojo. We ordered the Chimichurri, Burnt Honey, and Black Garlic Aioli. I liked being able to create my own flavor combinations, but everything off the girl was cooked to perfection and laid out beautifully for my friend and I to share. The amount of food we ordered was more than enough to feed us. The only thing I struggled with was finding the entrance to Ciudad. It was slightly hidden and I thought the front door was the back entrance to another restaurant. Parking may be difficult to find because it's Georgetown, but I definitely would come back!

Love! We have been loyal diners for several years. Ciudad is a favorite for special occasions or, really, any day of the week. I give a four star review because the change in the Brussels sprouts is not as good. The whole, fried Brussels sprouts from two years ago were life-changing. The current version is just okay. The baba ganoush and the labneh are my favorite in the city. Amazing! The hummus is a bland. I miss the days with the roasted chick peas on top. Also, we rarely order dessert. It's all about the spreads, the halloumi, the steak, and (usually) the Brussels sprouts. And, I wish they would bring back the pink guava margarita. So delicious!!

We had been wanting to try this place for a while so we took some friends before a show! Overall, we really enjoyed it and will definitely be back. Probably the only thing that kept me from giving it a five was overall cost, which seemed a bit high. I get it, good quality is higher in price, but just my opinion. We sat outside, literally in the street, which was kind of fun. Fortunately the weather was really nice as it made for a great experience. We ordered several drinks and foods, as everything is kind of al-a-cart or shareable. While all of the meats were delicious, probably the favorite thing of the meal was a toss up (pun intended) between the beet salad and the fried potatoes. Our waiter was friendly, helpful in the ordering, and made sure we were well taken care of!

We went here for a birthday celebration and had a wonderful time. We didn't have a reservation and so we ended up waiting at a bar around the corner for about 45 minutes before being seated. We ordered the following: Beet Margaritas - as a fan of beets and margaritas, this was lovely. Trio of dips - not pictured but this was delicious and possibly my favorite part of the meal. We had gotten hummus, muhumarra and baba ganoush. Baba ganoush was smoky and complex. Comes with 1 pita Patatas - potato pieces not that crunchy and slightly too big. Steak - delicious but slightly chewy. We ordered 3 sauces that kept each bite interesting. Pork - well seasoned! But I liked the steak more. Sesame cookies - I lied, this was my favorite part of the meal. Perfectly salty and sweet cookies (4) for dessert. All in all, it was a wonderful night.

Great food, fun vibe, and simple drinks! Portions are on the smaller side and everything is made to share family style.

Tucked away and unassuming, this little gem of a restaurant might not wow you at first glance--entering through the grill area is definitely unusual--but don't let that deter you. The food and drinks are worth every second! For our group of six, we ordered an array of dishes: saffron cauliflower, flatbread with dip, lamb riblets, and grilled chicken and prawns. Each plate was a delight. The lamb riblets and grilled chicken and prawns were tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor, showing a mastery of balance with their seasonings. The flatbread, soft and perfectly baked, paired wonderfully with the dip. And let me just say, the cauliflower was a surprise hit--it's often a risky order, but here, it was on point with a saffron kick that made it exceptional. The drinks also had some standouts. "Pear a Normal Activity" was the clear favorite--we ordered several rounds. The "Black Magic" was fine, though didn't quite hit the mark like the others, while the roasted beet margarita was an interesting and tasty twist. If you're here for the food and an overall enjoyable experience, you won't be disappointed. Great service as well. This place deserves a definite recommendation!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle. It's small and out of the way but the food is always so fresh, cooked well and incredible. I would eat here every week if I could. Service was friendly and helpful. I love that it feels like a speak easy when you push open the heavy door past the chefs cooking the meat. You won't regret coming here- get the 3 dips and bread and the steak is my favorite. Also the beets are fire!

Ambiance is super cute, upon arriving, you walk past the grill and through another door to go into the dining area. With a semi open kitchen that you can peak thru, you get to eat under a sun window above your head in a somewhat industrial yet cozy atmosphere. For two of us we ordered 1drink each, 3 small plates and 1 quarter pound of pork jowl. That was simply amazing!!! I strongly recommend the carrots and bravas (thank you to our host for recommending those). The portions are quite generous so we actually couldn't finish everything in one sitting. I think their cocktails are more on a tart side so if you're into that, youre in for a treat. Plenty of street parking near by and dessert/coffee shops near if you need a little pick me up affer.

Ciudad is as popular as their website implies. No reservations except 6 or more. I purposely timed our meal to be lunner (4-ish) to avoid the wait, and it worked. We walked in and were seated immediately. They have a single page rotating menu, like a fresh sheet, with several core fan favorite items. The service was swift answering all my q's, especially offering recommendations. The decor is artsy industrial with an IYKYK insider vibe. Street parking only, which wasn't difficult to find on a weekend. (This visit is from several months ago. Catching up on reviews...) The Food: Saffron Cauliflower - 5 Stars Menu: Shallots, dried apricot, hazelnuts, date molasses The staff said this dish is one of their signature dishes. It is divine! How do they make it soooo delicious? Seriously! Roasted Brussels Sprouts - 5 Stars Menu: Chimichurri, black garlic tahini, Manchego, pickled red onions I never would have thought to use chimichurri with brussels sprouts, and it works very, very well. Lamb Riblets - 5 Stars Menu: Harissa BBQ sauce, labneh, house pickles, and fresh herbs Another superbly prepared dish. The meat is tender and flavorful. The veggies are all standout. All three dishes above are from the Starters and Small Plates section. All three are clever, unique, and represent the restaurant well. From the Grill dishes: Prawns - shawarma spiced shrimp, lemon, fresh mint - 3.5 Stars Hanger Steak - moruno spiced, USDA choice - 3.5 Stars These are served with a small dallop of veggies/salad, and sauces are sold separately. These grilled-to-perfection proteins are good, but they also feel like something I can do at home quite well. I seem to have expected some culinary secrets that they would impart upon these, but no, just marinated and grilled. This is what I do at home, too. Good, but not superb like the previous dishes. Next time, I'm doing all small plates only.
